We had our Open House on Saturday and our Final Day of Filming on Sunday. The house was well recieved during the open house. Some realtors thought the house was priced correctly while others thought the house should be priced about ten thousand less. The realtors had a few suggestions and some negative comments about the house. Mainly the closets need to be painted and the back yard landscaping need some work. We are going to make those changes this next week.
The final day of filming with Kirsten Kemp from TLC’s Property Ladder went well. She is a super nice person off camera but when you get her on camera she is what the film crew call “Snarky”. You can guess what that means. Either way, the show was fun and I cant wait to see the episode. It should air sometime in September.
The pics below are of the finished house. Let me know what you think.
Congratulations! The house looks great! Hope you get the price you want on the sale!
Are you guys coming up here for the taste?
Thanks!!! Im still not sure if we are going to come up to Chicago. We planned a trip to Florida in the middle of July. When is the taste of Chicago again?
Hi David, the house looks great! at least in pictures =) I would try to watch the show on the 23. Can you say if the house sold?
Thanks, the house does show well with the furniture staging. Well, we initially listed the house for $299k. No offers. Our first price reduction was down to $284k. No offers. After three months we have reduced the price to $279k. Still no offers.
We are having plenty of showings and our house is very competitively priced. I asked our realtor “What do you need from us to sell this house?”. He said nothing - the market has been very, very slow in Atlanta recently. Buyers are waiting to see what happens with the market before they purchase a house or they want an increadible deal.
I dont think our house is going to sell before the episode airs. I’m bummed.
Hey,
Just finished watching a rerun of your episode. Curious to know if the house ever sold and at what price.
Hello PJ,
We did not sell the house. We rented it. We currently have a 2 year lease. Hopefully the realestate market improves and we can sell the house but until then we have the mortgage covered.
Thank you,
David Shanahan
ah David, that is quite a shame. Look forward to seeing this disaster over and over again in reruns on TLC.
